"With Club La Costa's help, through The Smile Foundation, we will be able to help many people and give happiness and peace of mind to a lot of families."
Agustín Moreno, Mayor of Mijas
Through The Smile Foundation, Club La Costa embarks on its most important philanthropic project to date: to build a brand new state-of-the-art, €3 million Cruz Dias Hospital 'ADIMI' Centre in Mijas.
Who are ADIMI (Associación de Discapacitados Mijeños)?

Translated they are the Association of Mentally & Physically Handicapped People of Mijas. This association was legally formed in 1999 by the parents of numerous children, who had all levels of handicaps, to fill the void in the local services. In the words of a Secretary of ADIMI (a mother with a 21-year-old handicapped son), "this hospital is a miracle which none of us ever dreamed would happen".
The new hospital day care will benefit all involved in ADIMI and will comprise a building with ample activities areas within which professional staff will form the team providing all the medical help needed.

The construction and installations will be of the highest level - lifts, bathrooms, showers, kitchen, gymnasium, medical equipment, rehabilitation rooms and more.
There will be an indoor swimming pool, which will be paramount for specific exercises for those concerned. Numerous restful green areas outside the building will be incorporated for walking and for those in wheelchairs to enjoy the surroundings with their family.
The building is designed to be perfectly adapted to the type of people who very much need help and providing the vital help and assistance to those parents who devote their entire lives to their children.
It will change the lives of local families with mentally handicapped children and is scheduled to open in 2008.
