Club La Costa announces European expansion in 2008 11th March 2008
Luxury Algarve resort is the latest addition to its portfolio of resorts.
Lagunamar Suites
Leading European developers Club La Costa today announced plans to increase the number of European resorts in their Vacation Club portfolio. This year, the company plans to significantly expand its private members' club choice of international holiday resorts with new additions in Spain, Portugal and Turkey.
The Club La Costa branded resort has reception services and its own, in-house children's club, Team Marina, to keep youngsters happy while parents enjoy some quality time during their holiday.
Lucien Le Moing, Product Director at Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels adds: "Portugal has long been a popular destination with our members so we're delighted to be able to expand our choice of resorts in this popular destination and offer this absolutely brand new, well managed resort to our Vacation Club members, who now have over 4,000 resorts to choose from worldwide. Lagunamar Suites is an exceptional resort, tailor-made for families or couples, with plenty of on-site amenities - all in a truly beautiful setting that includes the best the Algarve has to offer."
Quinta do Lago was created in the early seventies, and care has been taken to restrict over-building and over-commercialisation of the resort area, which has helped it retain its extraordinary natural beauty and sense of exclusivity. The original developers envisaged a top class resort offering visitors seclusion and tranquillity, as well as upmarket restaurants and sporting facilities. Bordered by the Atlantic, as well as the Rio Formosa natural park, Quinta do Lago enjoys an exceptional location.
There are four 18-hole golf courses in the immediate area: Quinta do Lago North, Quinta do Lago South, San Lorenzo and Pinheiros Altos, as well as a new 18-hole golf course under construction.
The Algarve is famous for its majestic coastline carved into stunning beaches and rugged cliffs by the Atlantic Ocean over the centuries. It's a stunningly dramatic region with mile upon mile of fine sandy beaches, some long and windswept and others small and secluded.
Not surprisingly, a large number of celebrities and sports personalities have bought multi-million euro homes in and around Quinta do Lago. Among them are Sir Cliff Richard, who owns a vineyard at Quinta do Miradouro where he produces his own range of Vida Nova wines, and football star and BBC commentator Alan Shearer OBE. All this, coupled with an average 3000 hours of sunshine a year, makes Quinta do Lago a sought-after destination all year round.
