The Pink Ladies breast cancer charity event in aid of 'Breakthrough', was held for the second year at Club La Costa's Duchally Country Estate in Perthshire, Scotland on Friday 20th June.
Back in pink
The ladies, resplendent in pink outfits and accessories, all enjoyed chocolate-coated strawberries and pink champagne on arrival and, not surprisingly, the champagne kept on flowing throughout the day!
Sumptuous buffet
Duchally's chefs prepared a sumptuous buffet, served outdoors on tables decorated with pink flower arrangements and balloons, and local musician John Davidson provided live Scottish and traditional folk music.
Fundraising activities included donations from local organisations, an auction and a raffle, and Duchally provided a prize of dinner for two at the resort's award-winning restaurant.
It was another great day. We raised almost £3,000 for the 'Breakthrough' breast cancer charity and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thanks to Duchally Country Estate for hosting the event again this year
Fiona Martin, Organiser
Organiser Fiona Martin, said, "It was another great day. We raised almost £3,000 for the 'Breakthrough' breast cancer charity and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thanks to Duchally Country Estate for hosting the event again this year." Mel Morris, who has beaten breast cancer twice, the last time being in February this year, also gave an emotional speech on behalf of the charity.
Thankfully, the notoriously fickle Scottish weather was kind enough on the day and the sun even shone, although it was a little windy. All the ladies received a pink rose, strawberries and a heart-shaped pink soap when they left.
