We have just returned from a week’s stay at Club Monterey Royale in Tenerife and wanted to say thank you for the very relaxing break. The staff could not have been more helpful and we have returned with a much clearer picture of how to benefit from being CLC members.
Thinking about the highlights of the trip, I have to mention the Welcome Meeting. This is the first time I have experienced a CLC Welcome Meeting and I have to say that it far surpasses any other holiday company. Not here, the reluctant glass of watered down alcohol but, instead, a regular supply of Sangria and an amazing paella meal. In addition, there was clear guidance on trips and resort facilities, as well as the opportunity to book the most relaxing massage I have ever experienced – a definite recommendation for future visitors.
The accommodation was superb with special touches that made the whole time very hard to forget. Arriving in the resort late at night, we were dealt with efficiently and given our room details. The ‘room’ was a one-bedroom apartment with a balcony - larger than most hotel accommodation - complete with our own Jacuzzi. This sense of luxury is what makes CLC stand out from its competitors. However, the homely touches also exist with the basic foodstuffs in the fridge, so a late-night snack could be easily prepared.
Once again, thank you and we look forward to staying again as now that we are back in England the experience is proving hard to forget. So much so that we have already booked our next CLC break.
Beverley and Chris Godridge.
My wife, Christine, and I visited the Paradise Club in Week 1 and had one of our best holidays since we first purchased one week there in 1998. We have since purchased another week and have always enjoyed our visits.
This time, however, we were particularly pleased to notice the improvements being made under Club La Costa's management. Our apartment was in excellent condition and although some apartments below were being gutted during our stay, we were pleased to notice that complete refurbishment was being carried out and the work did not seriously inconvenience us.
The welcome meeting was concise and informative, while the paella was excellent! We were particularly pleased to notice that there had also been improvements made to the shop and the service offered by the two employees was first class. This was true of all the members of staff we came across and as part of the ‘service’ industry, Club La Costa certainly puts their customers first.
We must make particular mention of the cleaning staff, but above all, those on reception who have always been so welcoming; particularly Nellie, Fatima and Alex who we have got to know well during our yearly visits.
We look forward to further improvements to follow the recent provision of a much bigger car park and the landscaping of the gardens.
We look forward to our next visit in May.
We would like to share a rather extra-special Club La Costa holiday experience my husband and I enjoyed at Sunningdale Village in Tenerife earlier this year. As erstwhile long-time owners there, we were glad to join Club La Costa when the company bought Sunningdale some seven years ago and have frequently added to our points holding on subsequent visits.
Over the years we have made many good friends there among both guests and sales team, as well as with the staff of super folk who are committed to making Sunningdale a very special and welcoming resort in the Club La Costa portfolio…and indeed, among the I.I and R.C.I. inventory too, I believe.
It was during our usual pre-Christmas one month stay in 2007 that our good friend Terry Foulkes, in the CLC Sales team, and her fiancé Alan Tink announced their plans for a May wedding in 2008, and invited me to conduct their marriage celebration ceremony. This was a huge honour and, in February we flew to Sunningdale to plan and to write the wedding service just as the bride and groom most wanted, and to arrange to accommodate their families and close friends for a celebration holiday – thanks to our Diamond holding of Club La Costa points!
On April 1st we acted as witnesses to Terry and Alan for their civil marriage ceremony in Gibraltar, after which they enjoyed a welcome break (again using our Club La Costa points) savouring the very best of luxury in one of the Santa Cruz Suites. Special thanks are due to Leah, Christine and the team in Central Reservations for their help in arranging this and all the later wedding accommodation, and for extra ‘TLC’ that made the honeymoon stay extra special.
Finally, as the week of the wedding celebration arrived, family and friends from all parts of the UK (26 in all) arrived in Tenerife to experience the feel-good factor of a special Sunningdale welcome. Flight delays meant that Alan’s plans for a get-together dinner at Zachary’s restaurant was running three hours behind schedule, and it was after 11pm when the last guests were guided from taxi to table. Our long-suffering chef was quite unfazed by having to begin cooking so late, and this despite the fact that the entire resort area suffered a blackout due to a mains power failure. Felipe’s restaurant staff served drinks and a super meal by candlelight, with their usual friendly efficiency and cheerful courtesy, thus creating a welcome getting-to-know-you occasion that set the seal on a great week-long celebration.
We all partied again at Zachary’s Bar on the wedding eve, and the ‘big day’ dawned cloudless as family, friends and Club La Costa colleagues gathered at a beautiful beachside venue. A radiant Terry, in a fairy-tale wedding gown, exchanged with Alan the marriage vows that were uniquely theirs. A happy and memorable day, we all agreed, when we relived it all late into the evening back at Sunningdale over champagne in the poolside bar. The rest of the week passed all too quickly, as the wedding guests continued to enjoy all the best that Sunningdale is ever ready to offer. Though over the years we have always enjoyed our times there (as indeed we have in our other Club La Costa resorts), this particular visit was somehow just that bit extra special and magical. For this I pay warm tribute to the care and commitment of every member of staff, under the fine leadership of Marjan, who all work together to create that unique ‘Sunningdale spirit’ for us all to enjoy – not least during that memorable wedding week.
Now we are preparing to return to Sunningdale again, for a month of sunshine to shorten the English winter…..and meanwhile have asked Resrevations at Club La Costa to reserve those May weeks again for next year….just in case we decide to celebrate at Sunningdale all over again…for Alan and Terry’s first wedding anniversary!

Hi,
We thought we would just drop you a line to say how much we enjoyed the last two weeks at Sunningdale Village.
My wife Lynda, youngest daughter Kerry (15) and myself had a one-bedroom apartment from 4th April 2008.
We had a really relaxing, enjoyable holiday. All of the staff at Sunningdale, from the reception team through to our apartment cleaner (Gloria), were very, very friendly. The staff at Zachary's, especially Nicholas (Nico), were more than eager to help us to enjoy ourselves and learn some more Spanish. They were all always cheerful and we never had to order a round of drinks for a second time - they always remembered what we wanted.
Although we did have a couple of cloudy days, the girls from Team Marina never let the weather stop us having a good time. So we were more than happy to join in with the fun and games. A trip on the submarine from San Miguel marina was a highlight of this holiday and we highly recommend it. Thanks also to Shaine, who took time over our breakfast meeting to make sure we knew how to get the most from our Vacation Club membership and how to use the new website to it's full potential.
We are now planning to return to Sunningdale Village again later this year, hopefully bringing some friends with us. As they have young children, we feel that this will be a happy, fun and safe place for them to have a holiday.
Thanks Club La Costa.
Joining Club La Costa is one of the best decisions we have ever made.
I would advise anyone with or without a family to go to any of the Club La Costa sites.
